Integrative Mental Health Care
Integrative mental health care is treatment for mental health concerns that incorporates evidence based complementary and alternative therapies. These types of therapies include nutrition, movement, meditation, breath work, biofeedback and energy work. We believe that an integrative approach is superior to the traditional approach of psychotherapy plus medication, because it is comprehensive and holistic.
How We Help You
Services
Here at Native, we take a integrative approach to healthcare by incorporating a variety of services. We offer counseling services that focus on identifying and treating the root causes of the illness, rather than just treating systems. Counseling can help patients to identify and address emotional and psychological factors that may be contributing to their health issues. By addressing these underlying factors, patients can achieve better health outcomes and experience improved overall well-being. We also incorporate wellness practices, such as stress management, exercise, nutrition, mindfulness, and others. By incorporating these practices into their daily lives, patients can support their physical, mental, and emotional health, and prevent chronic illnesses from developing.
Frequently Asked Questions
This is where we come in. Our process includes an initial appointment where your therapist will get to know you and discuss your concerns, any symptoms you are having and your social and emotional history. At the conclusion of this session they will explain what therapies have been proven to be effective for helping with the concerns or symptoms that you have presented. This is really important because we view ourselves as experts in mental health and evidence-based therapies but see you as the expert on you and we want to collaborate, work with you, to help you heal and thrive. We also want to empower you to manage your emotional wellbeing for the rest of your life. Sure, you many need us from time to time but we really think that once we reconnect you with your innate health-that you got this!
Native accepts most major commercial insurance plans. As part of our scheduling process, we will check your insurance benefits for eligibility for mental health services. However, an eligibility determination is not a guarantee of benefits, so we highly recommend that you contact your insurance provider to determine if you have mental health coverage. When checking your coverage, it is important to get answers to the following questions:
- Does my insurance cover mental health benefits?
- Am I responsible for a deductible when using my mental health benefits for therapy?
- If my provider is in network what will my out-of-pocket costs per session be?
- How many therapy sessions per year will be covered?
- Do I have out-of-network benefits if my provider is not in-network? If so, how much will insurance pay for out-of-network providers?
- Does my insurance require a referral from a Primary Care Physician or prior authorization to access my mental health benefits?
We are in network with the following insurance companies:
- Aetna-Commercial
- Pennsylvania Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Pennsylvania Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- West Virginia Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
- Highmark West Virginia
- United Medical Resources (UMR)
- The Health Plan-Commerical
- UPMC-Commercial
- Tricare
If your insurance is not listed here, contact us and we will inquire about becoming a provider.
Yes, we provide teletherapy through Kareo Telehealth. Telehealth visits our HIPPA compliant and can be conducted on a computer or mobile device. Chrome is the preferred browser for optimal use of Kareo Telehealth.
We believe that the therapuetic relationship is fundamental to effective therapy, regardless of the specific type of therapy the therapist practices. Therefore, the development of this relationship is of central importance. We do our best to match each of our new clients with one of our therapists based on a couple of key factors: goals for therapy, therapist’s specialty, and availability of therapist and client. However, if after a few sessions you do not feel like you are making a connection with your therapist we encourage you to talk to your therapist about these feelings, these conversations are welcome in therapy and your therapist will be happy to offer suggestions for other therapists in our practice or other practices based on what they have learned about you and your therapy goals.
Therapy typically delves deeper into long-standing psychological issues, involves licensed therapists, and can be longer-term. Counseling tends to be shorter and more focused, often addressing specific, less severe issues with specialists in various fields. Your choice depends on your needs and the nature of your concerns.

Healing The Mind
Counseling And Therapy
Mental illnesses are far more prevalent in our population than our perception permits. The longstanding stereotypes surrounding chronically, and persistently mentally ill individuals and the stigma associated with attending therapy has been a barrier to the successful identification, treatment, and management of most mental illnesses. Therapy can be an effective means of identifying and treating commonly occurring mental illnesses and the disruptive nature of their symptoms-specifically to our emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being.
Talk Therapies
A form of mental health treatment that involves speaking with a trained therapist or counselor to address psychological and emotional challenges.
Complementary & Alternative Medicine
Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) are non-conventional approaches to healthcare, often used in conjunction with a whole-body approach to health.
Whole Body Health
Wellness
Wellness is an active, preventative process that is holistic. It is, from our perspective, the very definition of the type of dynamic and comprehensive approach to mental health treatment and maintenance that would prepare an individual for the lifelong process of understanding their emotional self and taking care of their mental health while pursuing optimal well-being.
